A Firm Foundation...

Jack Nichols has been serving injured people as a trial advocate since 1966. The foundation for his skill in trial law began with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1958. A Juris Doctor degree was conferred upon him by the University of Florida in 1965. The College of Law recognized his superior knowledge of evidence by awarding him the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence. He has completed several post-graduate trial schools, some including theatrical techniques. His competence and experience as a civil jury trial lawyer have been recognized by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and The Florida Bar both of which have made Jack Nichols a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer.

A Unique Perspective..

Through his considerable experience as a trial lawyer, Jack Nichols has gained a healthy respect for the similarities between a successful theatrical performance and a jury trial. He knows the jury is both the audience and the critic. He has handled many jury trials against large corporations and hospitals during his career. The experience he has gained from litigating against these opponents helps him to know what to expect and how to prepare for the traps.

Jack Nichols has handled cases from the local Federal Court to the United States Supreme Court. He has also handled cases in the Florida state court system from local courts throughout Central Florida to the Florida Supreme Court.

Experience is Valuable...

Jack Nichols has sharply honed his skills as a trial lawyer through experience gained in the many jury trials he has handled since 1966. Unlike many trial lawyers, Jack Nichols also personally handles the appeals taken from the jury trials he tries. This appellate court experience makes him a better trial lawyer because writing appellate briefs and presenting oral argument in appellate courts requires a thorough understanding of the subtle nuances and interpretations of the law of evidence. This is important when a jury trial record is being made in the courtroom.

There are more than 26 published appellate court opinions in which Jack Nichols was counsel of record. Several of these appellate opinions established new law in Florida which trial judges follow throughout the state. When trial judges rely upon appellate decisions Jack Nichols has handled on appeal, this engenders respect for him.

Empathy with Jurors is Vital...

Jurors and clients from all walks of life can identify with the diverse background and life experiences of Jack Nichols. He worked his way through college as a manual laborer in a variety of jobs. He served five years on active duty in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer and an aviator. He has lived in four other states and Germany.

Leadership Brings Results...

Jack Nichols likes people and people have confidence in his leadership. Those skills are evident from the many leadership positions he has held. He was a Major in the Army which awarded him the Army Commendation Medal and Senior Army Aviator Wings. He was chairman of the Maitland Arts Festival and president of the Maitland Rotary, which made him a Paul Harris Fellow. He has been President of the Maitland Groves Homeowner, twice; and was also president of the Winter Park Jaycees which bestowed its Distinguished Service Award upon him. And while attending law school at the University of Florida, he became a member of the prestigious leadership fraternity, Florida Blue Key, and he served as president of the Law School student body, the John Marshall Bar Association..

A Winning Attitude Prevails...

Jack Nichols makes a total commitment to his injured clients. His enthusiasm and positive attitude pervades the courtroom and influences juries. He tries each jury trial himself. The most compelling and convincing facts about a case are emphasized to make an indelible impression on the jury so they will be motivated to return a favorable verdict for his client.
